School - One Day Workshops
At IIMS we offer opportunities to partake in an immersive set of workshops. These workshops are high energy, engaging, inclusive and fun for all. Core elements of each of these workshops include listening and responding, getting students to work both individually and as part of a team. They will help build confidence in a short space of time. Our workshops include Bodhran Blast, Musical Theatre, Body Percussion, Ukulele, Beat Boxing and Choral.
Bodhrán Blast
Available for primary and secondary schools
This engaging one-day bodhran workshop aligns perfectly with the strands of the Irish Primary Music Curriculum. Combining listening & responding with hands-on participation and composition students are introduced to the bodhran in an immersive, dynamic learning environment. Under the guidance of an expert IIMS Music Educator, this course will deepen pupils’ understanding of traditional Irish music as well as enhancing their practical skills in a fun and interactive way.
Singing Workshop
Available for primary and secondary schools
Work with one of our expert tutors to help students find their voice and sing together. The workshop uses a variety of fun, contemporary and upbeat songs to get students involved. With fun warm-ups, viral singing exercises and listening and re-call games, this workshop is an energising adventure for your school.
Suitable for all singers from beginners to experienced groups.
Beatboxing Workshop
Available for primary and secondary schools
Watch your students cheer in wonder at our amazing beatboxing workshops. Students will have the opportunity to learn about rhythm, experiment with different beatboxing techniques and create their own beats in this exciting and interactive workshop.
Ukulele Workshop
Available for primary and secondary schools
Our student-friendly Ukuleles are the perfect way to get playing straight away on an instrument. No experience necessary for these interactive and engaging workshops.
Students will learn simple chords and strum patterns from one of our expert musician-tutors, and will sing and play a selection of fun, contemporary pop songs. This workshop is suitable for everything from small groups to full auditoriums. We have enough instruments for everyone to learn and have fun together.
