Culture Night 2023 @ The Irish Institute of Music & Song

The Irish Institute of Music and Song Campus has expanded since last year, and is now host to Ireland's newest, and most state of the art concert hall - “The Lark”.  On the night we will welcome our guests at the entrance to the new building, and show them around this fantastic new facility for Balbriggan. Additionally, "The Square" will feature a selection of film previews throughout the evening on Friday September 22nd - It is expected to be a wonderful series of events.

Friday September 22nd - Musical Walking Tour

Timed slots for the tour are available from 5.00pm - 7.45pm.

Our music tour will start at the entrance to the Lark theatre, moving through the concert hall, to the Square and on to the Amphitheatre, our guests will be treated to various musical performances along the route, finishing in the Guitar Garden for an open traditional music session and song circle. This will be hosted by Dr. Sean McElwain and Carol Keane. Guests are encouraged to bring their own instruments and join the fun. From 5:00 - 6.00pm - Sean Smith of Hollytree Harps will demonstrate how the traditional Irish harp is made.


All tours will conclude near the La-La Restaurant and Cafe, which is also contained within our campus.  Reservations for dining is advised - Please contact - 087 950 5992 to book a table.

Friday September 22nd

8:00 - 8:30 PM - "Anthony Gormley: Body Politic" (2023) - Exclusive film preview followed by a discussion with director John O’Rourke and curator Valeria Ceregini.

8:30 - 9:30 PM - "Olafur Eliasson: Miracles of Rare Device" (2019) - A documentary directed by John O’Rourke.
