Toner is a musician and a lecturer in publishing at NUI Galway, He is founding Editor of the Journal of Music, which is now in its 20th year.
In this episode, Dónal and Toner speak about Toner's upbringing playing traditional fiddle, discovering his aunt's vinyl collection, and being inspired by concerts as a youngster. Toner describes the changes in Irish music since 2000, and presents a few theories as to how the music industry in Ireland - and around the world - will evolve in coming years.
