Podcast Episode 13 - Presentation Kilkenny
The IIMS podcast brings you the latest ideas in music from all over the world.
The Irish Institute of Music & Song (IIMS) podcast hosts conversations with performers, academics and educators from all over the world. The podcast is curated by Dónal Kearney in Dublin, Ireland.
In our IIMS Guest Artist series, we will sit down with groups and performers who visit the Irish Institute of Music & Song campus in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin.
The first episode of the Guest Artist series welcomes the prize-winning choir of Presentation Secondary School Kilkenny, which carried out a Residential Retreat at the Irish Institute of Music & Song in early March 2020, just weeks before our doors were closed by the pandemic.
As the first group ever to enjoy the Japanese-style pods and sing in The Square using state-of-the-art Wenger risers, we wanted to catch up with them to see how they got on during their stay.
In this episode, we spoke to conductor Laura Carroll and Head Girl Rose, who told us about the choir's experience of visiting the IIMS campus in Balbriggan. Michael T. Dawson also explained some of the ideas explored in the Masterclass process.
